Private luxury buses to stay off Surat roads from Feb 21

Luxury bus operators in Surat have unanimously decided to not enter the city starting from February 21, in response to a letter written by BJP MLA Kumar Kanani to the Traffic Deputy Commissioner of Police opposing the entry of large vehicles and private luxury buses in the city. The decision was taken in an important meeting of the Luxury Bus Operators Charitable Association in Surat. All the buses will be parked near Laskana, Valak Patiya outside the city, and will ply from there, including the empty ones.

The association president, Naresh Andhan, further said that the notification issued by the Commissioner of Police for the time limit will also not be considered. Luxury buses are called mass transportation and should be allowed to transport people at any time that suits passengers. However, the current restriction of no entry after 10:00 PM is causing traffic jams when the buses leave the city before that time.

This decision is likely to impact passengers who rely on luxury buses for transportation, especially at night. Meanwhile, it remains to be seen how the local government and authorities respond to this move by the luxury bus operators.
