Surat – Varachha Co-operative Bank has been honored with the SCOBA Pride Award for 2024-25 by the South Gujarat Urban Co-operative Banks Association (SCOBA). The bank received this recognition for its outstanding performance in three categories – overall business growth and expansion, profitable management, and excellence in public relations and social activities.
The award was presented on September 6, 2025, at a ceremony held in Darjeeling, West Bengal, in the presence of RBI Gangtok General Manager Ravishankar Goda. More than 200 prominent figures from South Gujarat’s co-operative sector attended the event. Bank President Bhavanbhai Navapara and Management Board Chairman Kanjibhai Bhalala accepted the award on behalf of the institution.
Varachha Bank, the largest co-operative bank in Gujarat, has achieved significant milestones with a business turnover exceeding Rs. 6,000 crore through its 28 branches over the past 30 years. SCOBA Vice President Kanjibhai Bhalala urged co-operative banks to focus on cyber security and modern technology, while SCOBA President Gautambhai Vyas, Vice President Devangbhai Choksi, and former President Mukeshbhai Gajjar extended their congratulations to the bank.
Holding the status of a multi-state bank, Varachha Co-operative Bank is also a leader in social responsibility initiatives. It actively engages in cybercrime awareness, savings promotion, and various community campaigns. President Bhavanbhai Navapara dedicated the award to the directors, management board, employees, and customers, crediting their collective efforts and support for the achievement.
On the festive front, the bank has introduced special schemes for customers, including the Sahkar Samruddhi Savings Scheme offering 8.21 percent interest and a Festival Car Loan starting at 8.25 percent. These initiatives further reflect the bank’s commitment to growth, innovation, and customer service.
