Surat Pioneers Innovative Mobile School Initiative for Underprivileged Children
State Education Minister inaugurates a mobile school, providing accessible education to marginalized children in Surat.
SURAT - In an unprecedented initiative to ensure no child is left behind in the pursuit of education, Surat has launched a state-of-the-art mobile school. The Pramukh Swami Smriti Vidyamandir Mobile School, spearheaded by the Vidyakunj-Vidydeep Group, aims to provide quality education to children living on the city's footpaths.
The mobile school, costing over 8 lakh rupees, was inaugurated by Praful Panseria, Minister of State for Education, and Darshana Jardosh, Minister of State for Railways. The school is a brainchild of school trustee Maheshbhai Patel, who envisioned this initiative as a means to commemorate Pramukhswami's birth centenary and extend education to impoverished children.
The unique bus-turned-classroom offers a vibrant and engaging learning environment complete with colorful benches, a blackboard, a television for both educational and entertainment purposes, and a variety of play items. The innovative design of the mobile school not only helps create a semblance of a traditional classroom but also aims to make learning enjoyable for children.
During the inauguration, Panseria interacted with the children aboard the bus and imparted some initial lessons. He expressed his admiration for the inventive approach to education and the high-quality facilities provided by the school.
Panseria also shared his plans to extend the concept of mobile schools throughout the state. "This is a unique and noble endeavor, providing an accessible educational environment for underprivileged and street children," Panseria said. He emphasized his plans to bring the issue to the attention of State Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and conduct discussions with social organizations, private schools, and various trusts to implement similar mobile schools across the state.
