Teen Siblings Missing from Vadodara Found Safe in Chambal After Family Dispute

Vadodara – The mystery surrounding two missing siblings from Vadodara has finally been resolved. Distressed by mental harassment from their father and grandfather, the teenagers left home and travelled to their mother, who was living in a village on the Madhya Pradesh–Uttar Pradesh border in Chambal. Vadodara police rescued the children safely after a 40-hour search that spanned hundreds of kilometres.

The case began when an elderly man lodged a complaint at Vadodara City Police Station, fearing that his grandchildren had been kidnapped. Initial investigations, however, revealed that this was not a case of abduction but one rooted in a family dispute.

According to police, the children’s father was addicted to alcohol and failed to provide for the family despite being a daily wage worker. Their mother, unable to bear the abuse, had left earlier to live with another man who sold water. Meanwhile, the father was residing with another woman in his ancestral village in Uttar Pradesh. Abandoned by both parents, the siblings were staying with their grandfather in Vadodara.

CCTV footage showed the teenagers leaving their house alone around 9 a.m. on the day they went missing. However, they were not spotted at the ST bus stand or railway station. Police later received information that their mother was residing in Chambal with her partner. When the police team reached the village, they found the house locked, but signs such as freshly cut vegetables suggested the family was nearby. With the help of locals, officers convinced the mother to come forward, and she appeared with the children.

During questioning, the children revealed that they were exhausted by the constant mental harassment from their father and grandfather, prompting them to leave Vadodara and travel via Godhra to their native Uttar Pradesh. Their mother had been supporting them financially during this period.

Police have confirmed that both children are safe and currently wish to stay with their mother. The case once again highlights how domestic strife and social stress can deeply impact the lives and futures of children.
