Grasim Industries Launches Sustainable and Traceable Yarn 'Raysileco' at Surat Yarn Expo
Grasim Industries, a flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, has introduced a new sustainable and traceable product for the textile industry named Raysileco. The product was unveiled during the 7th edition of the Yarn Expo held in Surat, organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI). Raysileco is part of Grasim’s Raysil brand and is produced using wood pulp sourced from certified and responsibly managed forests.
One of the most significant features of Raysileco is its dual traceability system, combining both physical and digital technologies. This innovation ensures complete transparency across the entire supply chain, enabling fashion brands and industry partners to verify the origin and quality of each filament used in their production processes. As per agency report, this traceability system is expected to offer a much-needed edge to brands aiming to build trust and accountability with environmentally conscious consumers.
According to company officials, the launch of Raysileco reflects Grasim’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and transparency. The company stated that this product would help the fashion industry transition towards more environmentally responsible practices. The yarn is manufactured at Grasim’s state-of-the-art facilities located in Kalyan, Maharashtra, and Veraval, Gujarat, demonstrating the firm’s scalable and technologically advanced production capabilities.
In the backdrop of increasingly stringent environmental regulations, Raysileco is seen as a pivotal step towards setting new benchmarks in sustainability and supply chain transparency in the global fashion industry. Industry experts believe that this development will also provide Indian textiles with a stronger competitive position on the international stage.
