Surat to Host Yarn Expo 2025 from August 1–3 Showcasing Latest Yarn Innovations

Surat: The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), along with the Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industry Development Centre, will organize its second major exhibition of the year—Yarn Expo 2025—from August 1 to 3, 2025, at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC), Sarsana. The expo will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Chamber President Nikhil Madrasi stated that the main aim of this exhibition is to boost the growth of Surat's textile industry by introducing industrialists to the latest yarn technologies. This will be the seventh edition of the Yarn Expo, featuring 85 exhibitors from across India including Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Mumbai, Ludhiana, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Bangalore, Panipat, Chennai, and others.

Inaugural Ceremony on August 1
The expo will be inaugurated on Friday, August 1 at 10:00 AM in Seminar Hall A of the SIECC Dome. Distinguished guests will include J. Raghunath (Sr. VP, Reliance Industries Ltd), Satyaki Ghosh (CEO, Fashion Yarn Business, Grasim Industries Ltd), Dr. S.N. Modani (VP, Sangam India Ltd), and Durai Palanisamy (Executive Director, Pallava Group).

Former Chamber President Vijay Mevawala expressed optimism that over 25,000 buyers, weavers, and industry leaders from textile hubs like Erode, Tiruppur, Ludhiana, Hyderabad, Varanasi, and Warangal will visit the expo.

Key Exhibits and Innovations
Expo Chairman Girdhar Gopal Mundra shared that a wide range of yarns will be showcased including silver zari, gold zari, tencel, cotton, N-silk, lyocell, zinc linen, carbon fiber, moisture management, biodegradable, hemp, and anti-microbial yarns. N-silk and lyocell offer eco-friendly alternatives to silk, while carbon fiber and biodegradable yarns are geared for technical textiles. Anti-microbial yarns are increasingly used in medical and sportswear.

Chamber Minister-In-Charge Bhavesh Taylor noted that the exhibition will also highlight innovations in natural and man-made fibers such as cotton, polyester, wool, silk, linen, viscose, ramie, and spandex. Specialized yarns like recycled polyester, dope-dyed, melange, ketonic, air-textured, and fire-retardant yarns will also be featured.

CA Mitish Modi, Honorary Treasurer, added that visitors will also find elastic, metallic, embroidery, low-torque, slub, textured, and fancy melange yarns on display.

Technology Pavilion and Fashion Shows
All Exhibitions Chairman Kiran Thummar revealed that a dedicated thematic pavilion on technical yarns and their applications will be part of the expo. Additionally, fashion shows every two hours across the three days will showcase the latest trends and yarn-based garments.

Yarn Expo 2025 is expected to play a vital role in transforming Surat’s textile landscape by fostering innovation, encouraging trade, and connecting manufacturers with national and international buyers.
