Ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Army Veterans Organize Blood Donation Camp in Vadodara
Vadodara, July 25 – On the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the District Sainik Welfare & Rehabilitation Office (DSWRO), Vadodara, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, organized a blood donation camp to honor the spirit of national service. Held at the DSWRO office premises, the camp saw participation from nearly 30 individuals, including serving and retired soldiers and their family members, who came forward to donate blood.
The camp was aimed at supporting local hospitals with much-needed blood supply while paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of India’s soldiers.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Kamalpreet Saggi, the DSWRO officer, said, “We are soldiers, and the nation always comes first. Whether in active service or post-retirement, our commitment to the country never fades. Blood donation is not only an act of humanity but also a way to honor our martyrs.”
The Red Cross team provided full technical assistance during the event and issued certificates to all donors. The camp concluded with patriotic songs and heartfelt tributes to the heroes of the Kargil War. The event served not just as a social initiative but also as a shining example of the enduring spirit of service and responsibility displayed by the armed forces community.
