Surat, July 20 – The WeaveKnitt 2025 exhibition, organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sarsana, is witnessing an overwhelming response from the textile industry and business visitors. Over the first two days, the exhibition attracted more than 6,380 visitors and over 580 genuine buyers from various cities across India.
SGCCI President Nikhil Madrasi shared that the exhibition aims to provide a strong commercial platform for the weavers, technical textile manufacturers, and entrepreneurs from the traditional textile sector of South Gujarat. Exhibitors have already received large orders for grey fabric, traditional sarees, and fashion garments, boosting regional business opportunities.
The exhibition has drawn buyers and corporate procurement managers from major textile markets including Indore, Jaipur, Pune, Delhi, Lucknow, Bengaluru, Ludhiana, Kolkata, and Chennai. Apart from securing bulk orders, many exhibitors also formed new business connections during the event.
A special focus has been given to showcasing modern textile technologies and innovations. Technical textiles such as antimicrobial, waterproof, and flame-resistant fabrics for hospital curtains, shower curtains, blackout and whiteout fabrics were prominently displayed. Microfiber products including bed sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, and ultrasonic fabrics also featured heavily.
Traditional and fashion apparel made from dola silk, tissue silk, viscose, muslin silk, denim, cotton twills, chiffon, and linen were presented in vibrant collections. A highlight of the exhibition was a demonstration at the Gosetu stall where visitors experienced remote-controlled weaving technology, indicating a revolutionary shift in loom operations.
As per report, dedicated sections highlighting sustainable materials, technical fabrics, and advanced weaving technologies emerged as key attractions. Real estate companies also participated, offering insights into industrial parks and opportunities for setting up textile units.
Organizers expect an even larger turnout on Sunday, the third day of the event, with a surge in general visitors and domestic buyers.
