New Delhi/Vadodara, July 12 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated the 16th edition of the Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Mela via video conferencing, distributing over 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited youth across various government departments and organizations. Addressing the recruits, the Prime Minister extended his best wishes and urged them to contribute wholeheartedly to their new roles and responsibilities.

Under this nationwide employment initiative, Indian Railways organized programs at 47 locations across the country. In Western Railway’s Vadodara Division, a grand event was held at the Railway Auditorium in Pratapnagar, where Union Minister of Jal Shakti, C.R. Patil, graced the occasion as chief guest. The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony.

Divisional Railway Manager Raju Bhadke delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of the Rozgar Mela initiative in empowering the youth and strengthening the nation’s workforce. The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Vadodara MP Dr. Hemang Joshi, Anand MP Mitesh Patel, Chhota Udepur MP Jasubhai Rathwa, Vadodara Mayor Pinkyben Soni, and Municipal Commissioner Arun Mahesh Babu, along with other local representatives, railway officials, and staff members.

At the Vadodara venue, 60 newly recruited candidates received their appointment letters, including selected individuals for the Postal Department and the Revenue Department (CBIC). Additionally, 48 candidates recruited for the Western Railway’s Vadodara Division were formally inducted during the ceremony.

Across the four divisions of Western Railway — Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Ratlam — a total of 347 youth received appointment letters as part of the Rozgar Mela. The initiative is a testament to the Prime Minister’s commitment to employment generation and youth empowerment, providing young Indians with meaningful opportunities to contribute to nation-building.
