Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Inaugurate Over 3,000 New Homes in Surat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate 3,265 houses constructed under various schemes in the Surat Municipal Corporation area. The residences, constructed at a cost of Rs. 285.12 crores across five locations, will be handed over to beneficiaries in a ceremony hosted by the Prime Minister on May 12.

The main event will take place in Pal, Surat, with additional ceremonies at four other locations. PM Modi will preside over the proceedings from Gandhinagar, inaugurating the Surat residences virtually. Three fortunate beneficiaries from Surat will receive the keys to their new homes, presented virtually by the Prime Minister himself.

The construction of these homes is part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, under which 28,000 houses have already been built and inaugurated in Surat. The new set of 3,265 housing units were constructed in five different locations in the city, including TP 28 (Rundh-Vesu) Suman Kavya with 450 houses, TP 9 (Palanpur-Bhensan) Suman Chandan with 420 houses, and TP 16 (Pal) Suman Mudra, boasting a total of 1231 houses. A further location, TP 16 (Pal) Suman Sneh, is also among the named sites.

The inaugural event will not only feature the unveiling of the Surat residences but also the opening of homes in other Gujarati cities. In addition to the inauguration, PM Modi is scheduled to interact virtually with three beneficiaries from Surat. While the smaller inauguration ceremonies will take place at four locations in Surat, the main event is slated for Pal, indicating the scale of the housing development in this area.
