Free Summer Yoga Camps in Rajkot Aim to Promote a 'Fit Gujarat' Among Children
Rajkot: Under the "Motaapa Mukt Gujarat" campaign initiated by the Gujarat State Yoga Board, the state government has launched free summer yoga camps at ten locations across Rajkot Municipal Corporation limits. These camps, which began earlier this month, will continue until May 30, 2025, and have attracted around 100 children aged 7 to 15 years at each venue.
Conducted every morning from 7 to 9 am, the camps focus on teaching yoga, pranayama, and physical exercises. The initiative aims to instill health awareness among children and ensure meaningful use of their summer vacation through structured activities.
According to the organizers, trained yoga instructors and coaches are guiding children not only through various yoga postures but also educating them about the importance of nutritious food and a balanced lifestyle. The sessions are designed to help children develop a routine, improve physical fitness, boost mental concentration, and encourage respectful behavior.
As per agency report, former East Zone coordinator Meeta Taria and West Zone coordinator Geeta Sojitra of Rajkot Municipal Corporation have urged parents to register their children for these camps by visiting www.gsyb.in. They believe such public initiatives are crucial in nurturing a healthier, more disciplined, and aware generation.
This program is part of the state's broader vision to combat obesity and promote wellness through early intervention, making yoga an integral part of children's lives from a young age.
