Fire Service Week 2025 Concludes at NTPC Kawas

Kawas, April 19, 2025: The closing ceremony of Fire Service Week 2025 was held at NTPC Kawas on April 19, 2025, under the leadership of Shri Suresh John David, Head of Project. The observance, centred around the theme “Unite to Ignite, a Fire Safe India”, aimed to promote awareness on fire safety within the industrial premises and deliver practical training to prevent fire-related incidents. As observed every year, Fire Service Week commenced on April 14.
The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests including Shri Sanjay Kumar Mittal, AGM (Operation & Maintenance), Smt. Shanija M. George, President of Swati Mahila Mandal, Shri Manish Kumar, Deputy Commandant, CISF–ONGC, along with other senior officials and employees.

Marking the culmination of the week, a live fire and rescue demonstration was conducted at the fire station premises, simulating emergency scenarios and showcasing rapid response strategies.

Throughout the week, fire safety training sessions and live demonstrations were conducted at multiple key locations including NTPC Kawas Township, Main Plant, Floating Solar Plant, DM Plant, LCR Units, NGL Area, and the Aarogyam Hospital campus. These sessions involved active participation from NTPC employees, contract workers, CISF personnel, and their family members. In addition, an evacuation drill and fire safety programme were organised for students and staff of the Government School in Mora village.

Special training modules focusing on LPG and electric fire safety were delivered by the CISF Fire Wing, highlighting household fire risks and effective mitigation measures.

To promote awareness through engagement, drawing, poster-making, and essay competitions were organised for schoolchildren on the theme of the week. Quiz competitions were also conducted for employees and their wives, offering a dynamic platform to reinforce fire safety knowledge.
Led by the CISF Unit of Kawas Gas Power Station, Fire Service Week 2025 served as an impactful initiative in advancing fire safety awareness and strengthening a culture of safety through practical training, community outreach, and cross-sectional participation.

Organised under the leadership of the CISF Unit at Kawas Gas Power Station, Fire Service Week 2025 not only served to raise awareness on the technical aspects of fire safety, but also proved to be a significant step towards strengthening a culture of safety through practical training, active participation, and community engagement.
