Smart Education Expo and Surat Startup Summit 2025 Inaugurated at Sarsana with Global Participation

Surat, April 11, 2025 – The Smart Education Expo 2025 and Surat Startup Summit 2025, jointly organized by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Centre, began with grandeur at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Sarsana. The three-day event, running from April 11 to 13, is open to the public from 10 AM to 7 PM daily.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Gujarat’s Education Minister Prafulbhai Pansheriya, who interacted with representatives from international universities, innovative startups, and technology exhibitors. He commended the creative ideas showcased and emphasized that such initiatives would elevate Gujarat’s youth and education sector to new heights.

Among the distinguished guests were Bharat Shah, Chairman of the Public Education Society; J.B. Dave, General Manager of the District Industries Centre-Surat; and representatives from the Royal Thai Consulate-General, Mumbai, including Chalotorn Simproh and Ashwin Fernandes.

Chamber President Vijay Mewawala highlighted that the Smart Education Expo aims to introduce students to digital learning tools, innovative teaching methods, global university options, and career guidance. He added that institutions from countries including the UK, USA, Germany, France, Singapore, Netherlands, Ireland, and Dubai are participating, offering students a one-stop platform to explore international opportunities.

Bharat Shah praised the event as a progressive step towards the future, noting its role in fostering innovative thinking, interest in technology, and a startup-friendly culture. He asserted that in the coming years, Surat will be known not just for its industry but also for innovation.

The Surat Startup Summit is focused on connecting local entrepreneurs with national and international platforms, providing networking opportunities and nurturing innovation. The expo features companies involved in tech startups, fintech, edtech, healthtech, AI-based solutions, and sustainable innovations.

The event proceedings were conducted by Chamber Exhibition Chair Bijal Jariwala. At the closing of the inaugural function, Chamber Honorary Secretary Nirav Mandalewala expressed gratitude to all participants and visitors.

The event also saw the special presence of Chamber Vice President Nikhil Madrasi, former President Ramesh Vaghasia, Smart Education Expo Chair Mahesh Pamnani, Startup Summit Chair CA Mayank Desai, Co-Chairs Amit Shah and Punit Gajera, and former President CA P.M. Shah. Entrepreneurs, students, exhibitors, and numerous committee members attended in large numbers, marking the event as a significant milestone for the city’s educational and entrepreneurial future.
