Surat to Host Unique Three-Day Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Course Blending Western Music and Spiritual Teachings
Surat is set to witness a unique confluence of spirituality and innovation as the "Social Army Trust - Surat" prepares to host a Shrimad Bhagavad Gita course for the first time, incorporating Western-style kirtan. The three-day event will be held from April 9 to 11, 2025, at the Sardar Patel Smriti Bhavan on Varachha Road, from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM each evening.
The highlight of this event will be the presence of Gujarat’s renowned speaker Parsabhai Pandhi, known for his ability to convey complex spiritual concepts in simple and relatable language. The event will also feature industrialist and social worker Govind Kaka Dholakia as the chief guest. A lifelong follower of the Bhagavad Gita, he will share personal experiences and transformations inspired by its teachings.
One of the most distinctive aspects of this course is the presentation of devotional music in a Western musical format by well-known Gujarati artist Urvashi Radadia. The aim is to engage younger audiences who are inclined toward Western cultural influences and to redirect their interest toward the values of the Gita and the power of devotional chants.
The course will feature specially designed graphic presentations to enhance the overall experience. According to the organizers, the Bhagavad Gita is the breath of Lord Krishna and the foundation of faith. This initiative seeks to bring positive transformation to the minds, souls, and lives of young individuals. The program is described as a rare combination of philosophy and music, intended to connect youth with a drug-free lifestyle and the timeless principles of the Gita.
This spiritually charged event is expected to serve not only as a source of divine inspiration for the city but also as a cultural innovation, setting a new precedent for how traditional wisdom can be communicated through modern creative expressions.
