Surat Police Use Drone to Trace Missing Girl Within 45 Minutes
Surat, April 4 – In a remarkable display of technological innovation and swift action, the Surat city police successfully located a missing eight-year-old girl using a drone camera within just 45 minutes. This marked the first time Surat police deployed drone technology to find a missing child.
The incident took place in the Udhna area, where the young girl reportedly left home in distress after being scolded by her mother for excessive use of a mobile phone and lack of attention to her studies. Around 10:30 in the morning, she told her family she was going out to play, but when she did not return for several hours, her parents grew increasingly anxious and approached the Udhna police station around 8 p.m.
Understanding the seriousness of the situation, the police promptly began scanning more than 25 CCTV footage clips from the area. One of the video feeds provided a possible clue to her last known location. Acting on this lead, the police deployed a drone to survey the surrounding region from above.
After nearly 45 minutes of continuous drone monitoring, the girl was finally spotted in the midst of a crowded vegetable market. The drone zoomed in, and the child was identified by her clothing and physical appearance. A police team was immediately dispatched to the location. Upon seeing the officers, the girl broke into tears, overwhelmed by the presence of a familiar figure.
By 10 p.m., the police safely brought her home, where her parents were overcome with emotion and gratitude. They tearfully thanked the officers, expressing that it felt like their daughter’s life had been saved.
This incident exemplifies how the synergy of technology and human compassion can yield extraordinary outcomes. The police’s rapid response, effective use of modern tools, and unwavering commitment not only ensured the child's safety but also reunited a distraught family with their beloved daughter.
