Sahkar Panel Sweeps SGCCI 2025-26 Elections with Landslide Victory
In the elections for the year 2025-26 of the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), the Sahkar Panel achieved a resounding victory. All 46 members of the panel secured their seats with a significant majority, while candidates from the opposing Navsarjan Panel failed to make an impact, with none of them managing to save their deposits.
The voting for 46 positions under the Lifetime Section of the SGCCI's Managing Committee took place on March 30, 2025, at the Platinum Hall in the SIECC complex, Sarsana. The polling was conducted between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Out of the total 3,590 members who cast their votes, 265 ballots were declared invalid due to various reasons, and 3,325 votes were considered valid.
As per agency report, the counting process confirmed a clean sweep for the Sahkar Panel, which secured victory across all contested seats. In contrast, the Navsarjan Panel candidates failed to garner even 997 votes individually, resulting in the forfeiture of their deposits. The results underline the strong hold of the Sahkar Panel within the chamber and reflect its popularity among the business community.
With this emphatic win, the Sahkar Panel is set to play a key role in leading the chamber in the upcoming term, aiming to introduce new initiatives that foster business and industrial development in the region.
