One Dead in Residential Building Fire in Vadodara

A 43-year-old man lost his life after a fire broke out in a seven-storey residential building in Vadodara city on Saturday morning. The incident occurred at Vinayak Society in the Sayajipura area, where the blaze is suspected to have started due to a short circuit in a fifth-floor apartment.

As per agency report, the local police confirmed that the deceased, identified as Kiran Rana, was alone in the flat at the time of the fire. He was reportedly asleep when the fire broke out around 9:30 am, and his body was later discovered on the bed. Rana was employed by a private company, and his wife was away at work when the incident occurred.

Inspector M.R. Sangada from the Bapod police station said that preliminary investigation suggests the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit. A forensic team is currently working to determine the exact cause of the blaze.

The incident prompted immediate response from neighbors, who alerted both the fire department and local police. A fire brigade team quickly reached the site and managed to bring the fire under control. The Bapod police have registered a case of accidental death and further investigation is underway.
