Discussion on 'One Nation, One Election' and Its Impact on Industries to be Held in Surat

Surat: The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) has scheduled a special discussion on "One Nation, One Election and Its Impact on Industries" on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the Platinum Hall in Sarsana. The event will feature Bharatiya Janata Party's National General Secretary Sunil Bansal and Surat District Government Lawyer and Public Prosecutor Nayan Sukhadiwala as expert speakers.

As per agency report, SGCCI President Vijay Mevawala stated that the concept of "One Nation, One Election" revolves around conducting simultaneous elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies across India. This event aims to delve into how such an electoral reform could reshape India's economic activities, bring policy stability, and impact the industrial sector.

The discussion will explore how synchronized elections could promote political and economic stability nationwide, fostering better governance and creating a favorable environment for industrial growth. The proposed reform is expected to contribute to long-term economic planning by reducing electoral disruptions and streamlining governance processes.

The SGCCI has invited industrialists, traders, and citizens of Surat to participate in this session, where insights will be shared on how a unified election cycle could influence governance and economic development in the country.
