Surat Chamber of Commerce Women Entrepreneurs Meet Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel
Surat, March 4: A delegation of women entrepreneurs from the Women's Entrepreneurship Cell of the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry met Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. The delegation comprised chamber minister Nirav Mandalewala, group chairpersons Bhavesh Tailor and Kiran Thummar, advisory member Swati Sethwala, chairperson Kritika Shah, and co-chairpersons Beena Bhagat and Ankita Valand. Additionally, 25 women entrepreneurs from the textile, jewelry, architecture, IT, hospitality, and legal sectors were part of the meeting.
The discussion focused on the role of women entrepreneurs in advancing their businesses while contributing to Gujarat’s economic growth. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel urged them to promote women's empowerment not only in society but also in business. He emphasized the importance of encouraging small-scale home-based businesses and actively supporting the government’s "Jal Sanchay" (water conservation) initiative. The Chief Minister advised the women entrepreneurs to play a proactive role in spreading awareness about rainwater harvesting.
The delegation also met Gujarat’s Education Minister Prafulbhai Pansheriya, who stressed the importance of education for women. He encouraged efforts to raise awareness about education among women to help them become self-reliant. Additionally, the women entrepreneurs held discussions with Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, MLA Revaba Jadeja, and other political leaders.
