Surat Sets New Spiritual Record at Akshaya Tritiya Festival
1151 Ascetics Perform Parana in Presence of Acharyashree Mahashraman, Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi Attends Event
Surat, Gujarat: On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, the city of Surat in Gujarat set a new spiritual record with 1151 ascetics performing Parana by donating Ikshuras in the presence of Yugpradhan Acharyashree Mahashramanji. Acharyashree, the representative of Lord Mahavira and the eleventh discipline of the Jain Shwetambar Terapanth Dharmasangh, created a new chapter in the history of the Terapanth Dharmasangh.
The festival began at 8:15 am and attracted a large crowd of devotees to the Mahavir Samvasaran, built adjacent to the Bhagwan Mahavir International School on the Bhagwan Mahavir University campus. Gujarat Home Minister, Mr. Harsh Sanghvi, also attended the event and received blessings from Acharyashree.

On this special day, various saints and sages, including Sadhvivarya Sadhvi Sambuddhayashaji, Sadhvi Pramukh Vishrutavibhaji, and Chief Munishree Mahavirkumarji, addressed the audience and highlighted the importance of Akshaya Tritiya. Acharyashree Mahashramanji emphasized the significance of knowledge, faith, character, and penance in attaining salvation and encouraged attendees to adopt these virtues in their lives.
During the event, Acharyashree paid tribute to his initiation provider, Revered Minister Munishree Sumermalji Swami (Ladnun), on the fourth Mahaprayan Day. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi also received blessings from Acharyashree, who urged him to maintain purity in politics and draw inspiration from the character of Lord Rishabh.
