Fake Multi-Specialty Hospital Exposed in Surat's Pandesara Area
Surat police have uncovered a fraudulent multi-specialty hospital operating in the Pandesara area. The hospital was run by two alleged doctors and an administrator, all of whom have prior records of involvement in liquor smuggling cases.
The hospital's inauguration card featured the names of prominent officials, including the Surat Municipal Commissioner, Surat City Police Commissioner, and the Joint Commissioner of Crime Branch, without their consent. All named officials denied any knowledge of the hospital or its activities.
The hospital was found in blatant violation of fire safety regulations. It lacked adequate firefighting equipment, and the existing tools were in poor condition. The hospital, which had opened just a day prior, was immediately sealed.
Investigations revealed that the operators and doctors of the hospital possessed fake medical degrees. Additionally, they were previously involved in criminal activities, including liquor smuggling, further raising concerns about the facility's operations.
The district health department disclosed that the hospital lacked the mandatory licenses and approvals required to operate legally. Authorities have vowed to take strict action against the perpetrators.
Residents of the area shared their apprehensions, stating that the site was previously home to an old theater, which was suddenly demolished to construct the hospital. They had no idea that the facility was being operated illegally.
The police have launched a thorough investigation into the matter, aiming to identify other individuals involved in the fraudulent hospital's operations. Further developments are awaited.
