Surat MP Discusses City’s Development with President Droupadi Murmu, Presents Traditional Ghari Sweet

Surat: Recently, President Droupadi Murmu embarked on a tour of three South African nations, accompanied by a delegation that included three Members of Parliament. Among them was Surat’s MP, Mukesh Dalal. During the visit, MP Dalal had the opportunity to meet with President Murmu and present her with Surat’s famous traditional sweet, Ghari.

MP Mukesh Dalal shared detailed insights about Surat’s historical significance and its rapid development with the President. He highlighted Surat as a key hub for the diamond and textile industries, contributing significantly to India’s economy. Dalal also provided updates on the city’s cleanliness initiatives and the ongoing infrastructure projects.

During the meeting, Dalal introduced President Murmu to the city’s unique festival, Chandi Padvo, celebrated exclusively in Surat, and explained its historical importance.

Additionally, MP Dalal briefed the President on future projects, including the upcoming Multi-Modal Transport Hub, Metro system, and Bullet Train. He emphasized that once these projects are completed, Surat will reach new heights in its development journey.
