PM Mitra Mega Textile Park Set to Revolutionize Navsari
Foundation Stone Laid for Poorna Tidal Regulator Dam Project
Surat - The PM Mitra Mega Textile Park scheme, with an investment of Rs 70,000 crore, is poised to transform Navsari and create new employment opportunities for the district's youth, according to C.R. Patil, State BJP President and Navsari MP. This announcement followed Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel laying the foundation stone for the Poorna Tidal Regulator Dam Project on Tuesday in Kasbapar, Navsari district, South Gujarat. Constructed at a cost of Rs 110 crore, the dam aims to solve the water problems of the local population.
Considering Navsari district's geographical location, the state government initiated the dam project in response to local sentiments and demands. Once completed, the dam will provide clean drinking water to villages within an 18-kilometer radius.
Water Supply Minister Kunvarji Bavaliya stated that despite receiving consistent monsoon rains, South Gujarat faces freshwater and irrigation challenges due to rising sea salinity. The government is focused on addressing sea salinity issues in Navsari and neighboring coastal villages caused by monsoon tides. He emphasized the state government's commitment to working for the welfare of the people.
K.A. Patel, Secretary of the Water Resources Department, presented the program outline and development works. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Minister of State for Forest and Environment Mukeshbhai Patel, District Panchayat President Bhikhubhai Ahir, and MLA Rakeshbhai Desai, among others.
