Israel Targets Hezbollah in Ongoing Strikes, Key Hezbollah Figures Eliminated
Beirut/Tehran, 04 October: Israel has intensified its military strikes on Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group supporting Hamas in Gaza. Following the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Israeli forces have continued targeting key Hezbollah operatives. In a recent airstrike, Mahmoud Youssef Anisi, a high-ranking Hezbollah figure involved in precision-guided missile production, was killed.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Anisi joined Hezbollah 15 years ago and was an expert in manufacturing lethal weapons. The IDF has stated that its campaign to dismantle Hezbollah will continue.
Reports from The Times of Israel, referencing The New York Times, indicate that Israeli fighter jets bombed southern suburbs of Beirut, targeting the underground bunker of Hashem Safieddine, a senior Hezbollah leader. The bunker reportedly housed other top Hezbollah figures as well.
In a separate operation, Israeli fighter jets conducted a rare airstrike in the West Bank, killing several Hamas operatives. The strike took place late Thursday in Tulkarm, with Palestinian authorities confirming at least 18 fatalities. The IDF and Israel’s Shin Bet security agency issued a joint statement announcing the elimination of senior Hamas commander Zahi Yasser Abd al-Razzaq Aufi and other operatives.
