Surat Police and Pandesara Industrial Association Host Blood Donation Camp for Thalassemia-Affected Children

Surat City Police and the Pandesara Industrial Association teamed up to host a blood donation camp at the Pandesara Police Station, aimed at providing life-saving blood transfusions for children suffering from Thalassemia. State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi and Surat Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Tomar were among the high-ranking officials who participated in the event, with both donating blood themselves.

The camp commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Mayor, State Home Minister Sanghvi, and Police Commissioner Tomar. Sanghvi appealed to the public, emphasizing the urgent need for monthly blood donations for Thalassemia-affected children, and committed the Surat Police to organizing such camps every month.

During the event, Sanghvi praised the Surat Police as the nation's leading police force, highlighting their dedication to addressing public concerns and supporting the community. He also advised traders to exercise caution in their transactions to prevent fraud and pledged strict action against perpetrators.

Sanghvi revealed that Surat Police have taken responsibility for 1,400 to 1,500 Thalassemia-affected children in the city, with the government providing necessary injections and medications. He noted the unique commitment of Surat Police in arranging blood donations and delivering blood to the children every month.

The State Home Minister encouraged the community to support Thalassemia-affected families and urged companies employing parents of Thalassemia patients to take responsibility for these children's care.
