Saif Ali Khan Breaks Silence on 'Adipurush' Backlash, Addresses Controversy for the First Time
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, often in the limelight for his roles, faced significant trolling following the release of the film *Adipurush*. Saif, who portrayed the character of Ravana in Om Raut's film, received criticism from various sections, with the movie being accused of hurting Hindu sentiments. Despite the controversy, Saif chose to remain silent on the matter—until now. The actor has finally addressed the backlash surrounding *Adipurush*.
Currently, Saif is making headlines for his upcoming film *Devara Part 1*, which also stars Junior NTR and Janhvi Kapoor. During a recent interview for the promotion of this film, Saif commented on the *Adipurush* controversy for the first time.
In the interview, Saif shared, "I didn’t expect the trolling to reach such a level. The court had mentioned in a case that what an actor says on screen is ultimately the actor's responsibility."
He further elaborated, "There are many people who think a certain way but cannot always express it. That’s why we have to be cautious. If not, we can find ourselves in trouble. When discussing sensitive topics like religion and politics, one must always choose their words wisely. Religion, in particular, is a subject we should steer clear of to avoid unnecessary controversy. We aren't here to create disputes."
Saif also recalled facing similar trolling during the release of his web series *Tandav*. He mentioned that over time, he has learned to distance himself from such issues and focus on his work.
