Surat Firefighters Lead Rescue Efforts in Flood-Hit Vadodara
Vadodara - Heavy rainfall in Gujarat has led to flood-like conditions in Vadodara, with many areas of the city submerged under water. Amidst this crisis, the Surat Municipal Corporation's Fire Department has played a crucial role in rescuing people trapped in the flood-affected zones.
On the night of August 28, three rescue teams from the Surat Fire Department, led by Fire Officer Ishwar Patel, reached the Ankot area in Vadodara where the Vishwamitri River had overflowed. They managed to safely evacuate two women, one man, and two girls who had been stranded in a house for the past four days.
In addition to the rescue operations, the Surat Fire Department coordinated with Vadodara Municipal Corporation's Deputy Commissioner Arpitaben to procure food packets from the Akota Guest House. They distributed food and water to over 450 people in various affected areas including Manjalpur, Nirmaan Vihar Flats, Vishwamitri Township, and Pramukhswami Kutir, ensuring that the basic needs of the flood victims were met during this challenging time.
