Surat's New Civil Hospital Enhances Lung and Chest Treatment Facilities
Newly shifted Respiratory Medicine Department equipped with 96 beds and modern facilities for improved patient care.
Surat – In a significant upgrade to patient care, Surat's New Civil Hospital has relocated its Lung Treatment Department, also known as the Respiratory Medicine Department, to the 8th floor of the Kidney Building. This new facility boasts 96 beds and is equipped with modern amenities to cater to patients suffering from lung and chest diseases.
Dr. Parul Vadgama, head of the TB-Chest Department, provided details about the enhanced facilities, stating that the new department includes dedicated sections for both male and female patients with tuberculosis (TB) and chest diseases, each with 20 beds. Additionally, there are 6 beds designated for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 10 beds specifically for critically ill TB patients. The department has been designed with a focus on infection control, ensuring adequate spacing between beds and a well-ventilated environment.
The Outpatient Department (OPD) services will continue to operate at their current location (number 11), where patients will have access to sputum testing, specialized gene reports, and emergency injections.
This new department aims to offer an infection-free, modern environment for the treatment of lung and chest diseases, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care in Surat's New Civil Hospital.
