Vadodara : Forest Department Successfully Rescues Massive Crocodile in Maretha Village
As part of an ongoing initiative to ensure the safety of residents along the Vishwamitri river, the forest department successfully rescued a massive crocodile in Maretha village today. The 12-foot-long reptile, which had wandered into the Rabari Vas area of the village near Vadodara, caused quite a stir among the local community.
Upon receiving the alert, the forest department swiftly dispatched a rescue team to the site. Villagers gathered to assist the team in the operation. Together, they employed a strategic method to safely capture the crocodile, ensuring the safety of both the villagers and the animal.
The rescue team carefully covered the crocodile's eyes with a large cloth to calm it down, a common practice in wildlife rescues to minimize stress for the animal. The crocodile was then securely tied with ropes from all sides, ensuring it could be handled safely. With careful coordination, the team pulled the crocodile and placed it into a transport cage.
The crocodile has been brought to the forest office in Vadodara, where it will be assessed and then released into a safer and more suitable habitat. This operation is a testament to the effective collaboration between the forest department and local communities in managing wildlife conflicts and ensuring the safety of both humans and animals.
