Vadodara Gears Up for 11th International Yoga Day Celebrations on June 21
Vadodara is all set to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day on June 21 with great enthusiasm and community participation. As per agency report, the district administration has planned extensive activities under the theme "One Earth, One Health," ensuring mass yoga sessions across taluka headquarters, municipal areas, and key public locations throughout the district.
The main event will take place at Varnama in Vadodara district, where over 2,500 yoga practitioners are expected to participate in a collective yoga session. In addition to this, yoga activities will be held in every village, school, college, educational institution, and at the panchayat level, ensuring widespread public engagement.
Speaking to the media, District Collector Dr. Anil Dhamelia highlighted that yoga is an invaluable ancient heritage of India. He emphasized that yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a source of mental peace, balance, and positive energy. He added that regular practice of yoga could play a crucial role in realizing the vision of a “Healthy Gujarat, Obesity-Free Gujarat.”
Simultaneous yoga sessions are scheduled to be held at all taluka headquarters and municipal bodies. Special yoga events will also be conducted at heritage sites, with trained instructors present in every village to guide the sessions. Schools, colleges, voluntary organizations, women, and senior citizens will participate in specially designed sessions tailored to their needs. To build momentum and awareness, preparatory camps and training programs are also being organized across the region.
Dr. Dhamelia has urged the residents of the district to take active part in the celebrations and to adopt yoga as an integral part of their daily lives. He stressed that such collective efforts will contribute to the development of a healthier, more active, and positively driven society.
