Surat Municipal Primary Education Committee Meeting Erupts in Chaos

Surat, India - The general assembly of the Municipal Primary Education Committee, managed by the Surat Municipal Corporation, descended into chaos as members clashed over allegations of corruption involving handwashing and dishwashing supplies for children.

Rakesh Hirapara, a member of the opposition party, accused the committee of committing a major scam by providing an insufficient amount of handwash and dishwash for children in the school. The ruling party, however, vehemently denied any wrongdoing and insisted that supplies were distributed according to regulations.

The situation escalated when an opposition member presented a container of handwash and dishwash, initially claiming to have obtained it from a committee-run school. This sparked an uproar among the ruling party members, who questioned how the opposition could have gained access to the container and demanded legal action against them. The opposition later clarified that the container was purchased from a store, not the school.

The heated exchange led to calls from the ruling party for legal action against the opposition for unfairly defaming the education committee. The meeting ultimately concluded amidst the disorder, leaving unresolved tensions between the two parties.
