Yarn Expo-2024 : Textile traders emphasize adapting to modern trends for industry success

Surat played host to the Yarn Expo-2024, organized by GFRRC, which attracted a large number of traders associated with the textile industry. On the second day of the three-day event, business discussions focused on yarn, clothing, and machinery requirements. Traders and visitors actively engaged in discussions, with stall holders noting details and visitors placing orders based on their needs. 

The expo received a strong response, with an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 visitors on the first day and around 10,000 on the second day.

Kunal Mahatma of Maharaja Industries emphasized the importance of fancy yarns in modern textiles. "Fancy yarn made clothes are crucial to surviving global competition," he said, noting the shift from traditional materials like TPM and Chiffon to blends of cotton, viscose, and nylon. Maharaja Industries focuses on daily research for new thread production, meeting the demand across the country with their modern machinery.

Luckybhai of Dora Industries highlighted the consistent demand for fancy yarns in sarees, kurtis, and furnishing fabrics. "We've increased our dyed yarn production threefold," he mentioned, pointing to the shift towards dope-dyed yarns, which enhance quality and reduce production costs. "Coloured yarns are essential for a vibrant world."

Dharmesh Khunt of Grownext Engineering LLP showcased their textile machinery, stating, "We manufacture machines capable of producing 55 meters of cloth per minute." With orders from both domestic and international markets, including Nepal, the demand for textile machinery continues to grow.

Parth Savani of Mahavir Air Compressor added that air compressors are indispensable in various industries, including textiles and healthcare.

The Yarn Expo-2024 underscored the textile industry's dynamic nature and the necessity of embracing modern trends to maintain competitiveness and growth.
