Surat Social Worker  Ganeshbhai P. Sawant Organizes 21st Annual Free Pilgrimage for Senior Citizens

Surat, June 26 – Renowned social worker Ganeshbhai P. Sawant organized a three-day religious pilgrimage for senior citizens in memory of his late mother, Sevantiben Pandurang Sawant. Now in its 21st consecutive year, this noble initiative once again demonstrated Ganeshbhai's unwavering commitment to community service and respect for the elderly.

The pilgrimage began on Sunday, June 22, 2025, when two buses departed with 120 senior citizens aged 50 and above. Over the course of three days, the group visited several revered spiritual destinations including Unai Saputara, Saptashrungi, Nashik, Shirdi, Shani Dev Temple, and Muktidham. The journey concluded on Wednesday, June 25, when all participants returned safely to Surat.

Throughout the journey, Ganeshbhai personally ensured the comfort and well-being of all participants, providing tea and snacks and attending to their needs as he would his own parents. A team of dedicated volunteers accompanied the group, assisting the elderly at every step.

Ganeshbhai expressed deep satisfaction and gratitude for being able to honor his mother’s memory through this act of service. The senior citizens, deeply moved by the care and generosity shown, praised Ganeshbhai for his efforts and blessed him for his compassion.

The event stood as a heartfelt tribute to his mother and a shining example of devotion to social welfare.
