90,000 Liquor Bottles and Cough Syrup Destroyed in Vadodara
Vadodara- In a significant crackdown, more than 90,000 bottles of liquor, valued at Rs 1.62 crore, were destroyed by bulldozing today in Vadodara. The bottles were seized from seven police station areas, including Jawahar Nagar, Gorwa, and Laxmipura, under Zone-1 of the Vadodara City Police Station. Following a court order, the destruction took place on Nandesari-Jawahar Nagar Road, where the bottles were laid out and crushed under the supervision of senior police officials and the Executive Magistrate.
In addition to the liquor, a substantial quantity of controversial Ayurvedic cough syrup, also classified as an intoxicant, was destroyed in the same manner. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by the authorities to curb the illegal sale and distribution of alcohol and other intoxicants in the region.
