Laughter Therapy Brings Smiles to Surat Police

Surat - Today, Surat Police personnel, who are on duty 24/7, found a reason to smile during a laughter therapy session held at the Surat Police Community Hall. Often engrossed in dealing with criminals and protecting the city, the officers had almost forgotten to laugh. The session changed this scenario, bringing much-needed relief and joy.

Under the guidance of Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot, humor therapist Kamlesh Masalawala conducts a 10-15 minute Hasya Yoga session for policemen on the first of every month. This initiative aims to alleviate the stress inherent in police work.

More than 300 policemen participated in today’s session. ACP MK Rana expressed, "Stress is common in our job. Laughter therapy made us realize how important laughter is for our mental health. This will help us serve the public better."

Echoing similar sentiments, Gayatri, a female officer, shared, "I am very busy and had almost forgotten to laugh. Today's session reminded me how important laughter is."

Humor therapist Kamlesh Masalawala highlighted the therapeutic benefits, stating, "Laughter helps fight many diseases. Policemen should also take out some time from their busy schedule to laugh."

This initiative not only aims to improve the mental well-being of police personnel but also ensures they are better equipped to serve the public with a positive mindset.
