Metro Bridge Span Tilts on Saroli Road in Surat

Today, a metro bridge span on Saroli Road in Surat unexpectedly tilted, causing significant alarm and leading to the immediate closure of the road to traffic. Eyewitnesses reported sudden movement in the span, which resulted in it tilting to one side and exposing iron rods, heightening fears of a possible collapse.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police and metro officials promptly arrived at the scene. The route from Surat to Kadodara has been completely closed, and traffic is being redirected to alternative routes to ensure public safety.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Payal Sakaria has expressed serious concerns over the incident, stating it is alarming that such an occurrence has taken place in a metro project constructed at the cost of crores of rupees. She has alleged that the accident resulted from the use of substandard construction materials.

PSI S.R. Vakaria of Saroli police station reported that metro officials have attributed the incident to a technical fault in the span. The police are currently investigating the matter to determine the exact cause of the accident.

As investigations continue, the focus remains on ensuring the safety of the public and preventing similar incidents in the future.
