Vadodara - An explosion in an air conditioner at an insurance company near the new collector office at Malhar Point caused chaos on Monday afternoon. The blast injured six people, with two in critical condition now admitted to the ICU.
Upon receiving the explosion report, ACP, DCP, and fire department personnel, along with police, promptly arrived at the scene.
The explosion occurred at Shriram General Insurance Company, where more than six people work. Due to the rain, many employees were not in the office at the time. Eyewitnesses reported a significant explosion around 11 o'clock, which destroyed the AC unit and damaged the office's fan, tube lights, sofa, and other nearby items. The injured were taken to Sterling Hospital, with two critically injured.
Fire officer Amit Chaudhary noted that the insurance company’s office is on the third floor and initial findings indicate the AC wiring had melted. Akota police station PI RN Patel stated that a full investigation is underway to determine the explosion's cause.
