Heavy Rains Cause Waterlogging in Surat, Hostel Evacuated

Heavy rains led to significant waterlogging in various areas of Surat. One notable incident occurred near Vraj Chowk in Sarthana, where water entered Adarsh Resident School and Boys Hostel. Located on the bay coast, the hostel faced severe flooding as the drain overflowed due to the incessant rains.

As water levels rose, 45 individuals, including class 9 and 10 students, teachers, and staff, found themselves in a perilous situation. Overwhelmed and frightened, they promptly called the fire brigade for assistance.

The fire brigade responded swiftly, arriving at the scene and evacuating everyone safely. Utilizing a boat, they transported the students and staff to a nearby ward. Subsequently, the evacuees were temporarily moved to the Sarthana Community Hall for safety.

The prompt action by the fire brigade ensured the safety of all individuals involved. The students and staff felt immense relief once they were in a secure location.
