VMC and IOCL Ink Landmark Agreement for Treated Wastewater Supply

In a significant move towards sustainable water management, Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) signed an agreement today. Under this agreement, VMC will supply 40 million liters per day (MLD) of treated wastewater to IOCL from the TWW plant at Rajivnagar.

The project, costing Rs 79.77 crore, includes an operation and management budget of Rs 65.33 crore for 15 years. This collaboration is expected to raise VMC’s annual revenue from Rs 7.04 crore to Rs 20 crore, marking a substantial financial boost for the city.

Key Highlights of the Agreement:

  • VMC will supply 40 MLD of treated wastewater to IOCL from the Rajivnagar TWW plant.
  • The project’s total cost is Rs 79.77 crore.
  • Operation and management costs for 15 years are pegged at Rs 65.33 crore.

  • IOCL handed over the first installment cheque of Rs 10.23 crore to VMC.

Mayor Pinkiben Soni expressed her excitement about the agreement, stating, “This is a historic day for Vadodara. This agreement will not only help make our city clean but also increase our annual income. I thank IOCL for their support.”
