Saudi Arabia plane catches fire while landing in Peshawar, No casualty was reported

Peshawar, 11 July (HS): A Saudi Arabia plane with 297 passengers aboard caught fire while landing at Peshawar Airport on Thursday. The passengers and the crew members were evacuated safely. Smoke emanating from a side was noticed during landing at Pakistan’s Peshawar Airport. The incident occurred due to some problem in the landing gear.

Saudi Arabia clarified that the aircraft flying from Riyadh to Peshawar experienced smoke emanating from one of the tiers during landing. The aircraft was
immediately stopped and the authorities at the airport were informed. Technical evaluation by specialists is in progress. The Air Traffic Controller alerted the pilot. The fire and rescue services extinguished the fire and prevented a major accident.
