Surat Nursing Association Promotes Organ Donation Awareness

Surat, July 5, 2024 — With the growing importance of organ donation alongside blood, eye, and body donations, the Surat Nursing Association organized a program titled "Organ Donation Mahadaan Awareness Dialogue" to raise awareness about the life-saving impact of organ donation.

Students from Civil Medical College, Nursing College, City Medical College, nursing staff, and doctors participated in the event, sharing their views on the critical need for organ donation.

Dilipdada Deshmukh, founder of Angdaan Charitable Trust, was the chief speaker. He highlighted that the rise in junk food consumption has led to an increase in fatal diseases, causing organ damage for many individuals. Deshmukh stressed the need for a statewide organ donation awareness campaign to address the shortage of available organs for transplant, noting that many people die while waiting for an organ.
