Gandhinagar – The Gujarat Chief Minister's Office (CMO) has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification, reaffirming its high-level, quality, timely, and people-centric functioning as per international standards.

This milestone traces back to 2009 when the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then Chief Minister of Gujarat, initiated the ISO benchmark for the Chief Minister's Office. The goal was to enhance the quality and execution of administrative work, bringing a qualitative change to the state's work culture. The Gujarat CMO first received the ISO 9001:2015 certification in 2009 for its outstanding and continuous reforms in public services and timely work organization.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Gujarat has maintained this legacy of good governance. The state’s CMO remains the only one in India to have secured five consecutive triennial ISO certifications from 2009 to 2023. Programs like the state-level online public grievance redressal initiative, 'SWAGAT' (State Wide Attention on Grievances by Application of Technology), have been successfully implemented and continued under Patel’s leadership, further solidifying the office's commitment to excellence.

The success of these initiatives has led to the Gujarat CMO being awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification for the sixth cycle, covering the period from 2024 to 2026. This certificate was presented to Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel by Bhavin Vora, Director of Technocrat Consultants, alongside officials from the certification agency Bureau Veritas.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed his confidence that this recognition will keep the CMO committed to meeting the expectations of the public through assured standards, efficiency, effectiveness, and timeliness in work execution. He also congratulated 'Team CMO' on receiving this prestigious certification, emphasizing its role in continuously striving for excellence in governance and public service.
