Surat Mercantile Association Resolves Trader Issues

The Surat Mercantile Association (SMA) held its 176th regular weekly problem resolution meeting on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Maheshwari Bhawan, Board Room, CT Light. Under the leadership of SMA Chief Narendra Saboo and his Panch Panel and Core Committee team, the meeting aimed to address trader issues and foster unity.

In this week's meeting, 92 traders attended, and 44 applications involving approximately 1 crore 75 lakhs were discussed. Two applications were resolved immediately, while the remaining cases were handed over to the Panch Panel and Legal Team for further processing. In June alone, the SMA's core committee resolved 45 trader applications, amounting to over 95 lakhs, a commendable achievement.

Key discussions centered around payment issues arising from transactions through agents and brokers. Traders often face problems when they lack permanent contact details for these brokers, relying only on mobile numbers that may be switched off, leaving payments stuck. SMA Chief Narendra Saboo emphasized caution against such mobile brokers and urged traders to ensure secure transactions.

Narendra Saboo highlighted SMA's efforts over the past four years to unite and educate the business community, which has significantly benefited traders and facilitated safer business expansions.

The meeting concluded with refreshments, attended by prominent SMA members such as Ashok Goyal, Rajiv Umar, Mahesh Patodiya, Rajkumar Chiraniya, Manoj Agarwal, Rajesh Gurnani, Sandeep Agarwal, Ramkishore Bajaj, Rajendra Kanodia, Basant Maheshwari, Kewal Asija, Mukesh Agarwal, and Anil Bhauwala.
