Surat – A cement mixer truck became stuck in a drain on Varachha Road near Surat Railway Station on Sunday, leading to a massive traffic jam. The truck, used for construction work to fill slabs, got lodged near the iron railing under a high culvert, creating a significant bottleneck.

The truck, en route from the railway station to Varachha, became trapped in the drain, which is a daily passage for thousands of drivers. Due to the iron railings already installed there, vehicles with high clearance cannot pass through, exacerbating the situation.

The cement mixer attached to the back of the truck got caught near the iron railing, blocking the route. Varachha Garanala, a busy area, typically sees heavy traffic, and the stuck truck caused an extended jam as vehicles piled up.

The incident caused a substantial traffic jam extending from Garanala to Doctor House and from Mohan Mithai to Garanala. Traffic department personnel worked to manage the congestion and eventually attempted to remove the truck from the drain.

The traffic jam caused considerable inconvenience for commuters. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries. Authorities are currently assessing the damage to the railing caused by the incident.
