Surat : Police Arrest Man with Fake Notes Worth Rs 24,000

In a significant breakthrough, the police arrested a man from the Udhna area on Thursday for possessing fake currency worth Rs 24,000. The accused, identified as Shivnandan Pal (41), originally from Uttar Pradesh, had been circulating counterfeit notes in the city for the past six months.

Pal, who worked in saree printing in Surat, was reportedly introduced to the counterfeit operation by a man named Salman Ahmed. According to the police, Salman taught Pal how to produce fake notes, luring him with promises of quick and easy money. Pal then began manufacturing and distributing the counterfeit currency, primarily using it to purchase goods from vegetable markets and small shops.

Upon receiving a tip-off, the police conducted a raid at Pal’s hideout in the Udhna area. They seized fake notes worth Rs 24,000, along with a color printer, 75 sheets of paper intended for printing fake notes, and several ink bottles.

The police have detained Pal and are currently interrogating him to uncover more details about the counterfeit operation. They suspect that more individuals might be involved in the production and distribution of the fake notes. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities anticipate further revelations in the case.
