Union Minister Launches Rainwater Harvesting Drive
Initiative to Boost Underground Water Levels in Bhimrad
Under the chairmanship of Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil, a rainwater harvesting and tree plantation program was organized at Dayal Villa in Bhimrad village. The event aimed to increase underground water levels and promote environmental sustainability.
Union Minister Patil congratulated the residents of Dayal Villa Society for implementing a rainwater harvesting facility. He emphasized the importance of rainwater harvesting to prevent future water shortages, enhance groundwater levels, and improve water quality, thereby reducing the risk of waterborne diseases.
Patil highlighted that increasing the underground water level through water storage is crucial. He mentioned that the administrative system is working on facilities for water storage through bores or other new technologies. This initiative is expected to inspire more residents to adopt rainwater harvesting in their homes and communities, encouraging others to do the same.
In addition to promoting water conservation, the Minister underscored the significance of environmental balance by planting trees during the event.
The program saw the participation of MLA Sandipbhai Desai, former Standing Committee Chairman of the Municipal Corporation Paresh Patel, and other villagers and local residents.
