Son Discovers Bodies While Bringing Breakfast

Surat : four family members found dead

A tragic incident unfolded on Friday night in the Rajhans Residency of the Jahangirpura area. The bodies of 62-year-old Jashuben Vadher, her 58-year-old sister Shantuben Patel, 60-year-old sister Gaiben Patel, and 65-year-old brother-in-law Manishbhai Patel were found in their flat, number 504, on the fifth floor.

Jashuben's son, Mukesh Vadher, recounted the events leading up to the discovery. His aunts and uncle had traveled from Bhavnagar to check on his mother's health. After a family dinner, they all went to sleep. Mukesh, who stayed in an adjacent flat with his wife, arrived at his mother's flat on Saturday morning with breakfast, only to find the lifeless bodies of his mother and relatives.

Upon being informed, the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation with the assistance of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team. They noted the geyser was on in the bathroom. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations as the police explore various potential causes of death, including food poisoning, gas suffocation from the geyser, and possible suicide.

This incident has devastated Mukesh, who recently lost his father, Keshavbhai Vadher, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Jashuben, who was nearing retirement from her job as a bank peon, has left behind a grieving son who runs a breakfast cart outside the society. Mukesh himself had undergone a nose operation just a week prior.

The cause of death remains uncertain as the police continue their investigation. The community and Mukesh's family await answers in this tragic loss.
