Surat Platform 4 Closure: Trains to Udhna
Passengers to board at Udhna for 90 days due to construction work.
Starting June 10, platform number 4 at Surat railway station will be closed to passenger movement for a duration of 90 days. This closure, necessitated by ongoing construction projects including a concourse area on top of current railway station, will last until September 7, 2024.
During this period, trains that typically depart from platform 4, such as the Tapti Ganga, Surat-Chhapra Clone, and Amravati, will instead operate from Udhna station. Trains continuing to operate from Udhna include the Taptiganga, Bhagalpur, Amravati, Bhusaval, Surat-Bandra Intercity, Surat-Chhapra, and Nandurbar-Surat Passenger.
Trains departing from platforms 1, 2, and 3 at Surat station will continue as scheduled. The railway authorities advise passengers to verify their train schedules from Udhna station ahead of their journey and to arrive at Udhna at least one hour before their train’s departure time.
Despite the anticipated inconvenience, the Railways assures passengers that this step is essential for enhancing their travel experience. Facilities like a restaurant and waiting area will be available in the new concourse area.
