Old Friend Contracted Murder of Bangladesh MP, Reveals Bengal CID
Three arrested in connection with the planned murder of MP Anwarul Azim Anar
Kolkata – The West Bengal CID has disclosed that Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Anar's murder was orchestrated by an old friend, who paid Rs 5 crore for the contract killing. Three individuals have been apprehended in Bangladesh in connection with this case.
As per agency report, on Thursday, a senior CID official confirmed that the murder was premeditated. The friend, who owns a flat in Kolkata and is believed to have masterminded the plot. CID IG Akhilesh Chaturvedi stated that the investigation commenced after the MP was reported missing during his visit to Bengal. Credible evidence regarding the murder surfaced shortly thereafter.
When questioned about the potential crime scene at a luxury apartment in New Town on the outskirts of Kolkata, where MP Anar was last seen on May 13, Chaturvedi responded, "Our forensic team is actively investigating the suspected crime scene. It is too early to make any definitive statements at this stage."
The ongoing investigation continues to unravel more details as authorities work to bring those responsible to justice.
