Bollywood Stars Cast Votes, Akshay Kumar Votes for the First Time
Mumbai – Bollywood celebrities actively participated in the Lok Sabha elections, with actor Akshay Kumar casting his vote for the first time after acquiring Indian citizenship on August 15, 2023.
Akshay Kumar, who previously held Canadian citizenship, was unable to vote in past elections. After voting, he expressed his excitement, saying, "I want my country India to develop and become strong. Keeping this in mind, I voted. Similarly, the whole of India should vote for the candidate they feel is right. I feel very good after voting for the first time.”
Farhan Akhtar also cast his vote, arriving at the polling station with his sister Zoya Akhtar and mother Honey Irani. The trio posed for the paparazzi after voting, with their video shared widely on social media.
Veteran actress Shobha Khote exercised her franchise at a Mumbai polling booth. She stated, “I have voted for the right candidate. I did not choose to vote from home and came here to vote at the polling station, so that people can be motivated to go out and vote.”
Other celebrities, including Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rajkumar Rao, were also seen at polling stations, casting their votes. Photos and videos of these stars at polling booths have been widely discussed on social media, highlighting their participation in the democratic process.
